Our baby boy is 7 months old. We had a rough night last night with his second ear infection. I'm really hoping he doesn't end up having to get tubes... He woke up at 1 am crying and I figured it was his teeth so patted him back to sleep and about a half hour later he was up again so I gave him some orajel. He was once again up crying in about 15 minutes so then I gave him a teething tablet. Well this went on and at about 3 I had finally given him IB profin and a bottle. I thought for sure this would do it... well he lasted about an hour and he was up at 4... so I got him up and just rocked him for awhile and all the while he just cried in my arms. I felt so bad and at this point I decided to take his temp.. it was 103.5 at 5 am. I was kinda worried since he had the IB profin 2 hours before and it was still a high temp... so I called Marshall Clinic's nurse on call to see what she thought. She said it was up to us of course but she would take him in to the ER since it was so high after 2 hours. So we loaded up at about 5:30 and headed to the ER. I had suspected ear infections since this is exactly what happened last time.. no sleep, fussy, runny nose... I didn't want to make him wait until Monday so we went ahead and took him in. Yep he had a pretty bad ear infection. We were home by 6:30 and luckily he finally fell asleep for a few hours. It was one restless night for both mama and baby! Not how I thought our Sunday would go!
So, by 7 months he has officially had 2 yucky ear infections both in the left side. Darn!
-He weighs 21 pounds and is getting longer and longer
-He is seriouslly a little piggy when it comes to eating! His bottles haven't changed but he has been eating a lot more food lately. For breakfast usually a yogurt isn't enough so he gets some Gerber oatmeal too. For lunch he is eating about 5 ice cubes of homemade food, or 2 containers of Gerber. For dinner, it's been the same as lunch. One day recently he had 2 Gerber containers for lunch and a whole banana plus his bottle! He is definitely going through a growth spurt. I tried cutting back on the cereal in his bottle and he didn't like that apparently. He started waking up at 6am STARVING. So, I went back to putting it in and he now wakes up content at about 7-8.
-His skin is so soft but I have noticed dry skin lately. Baby oil seems to do the trick.
-He is a pro at sitting up now, yay!
- He is such a roller. When he lays on the floor to play he is off his blanket in no time and rolled against the couch most days.
-Last night he was trying to scoot a bit and he even tried to get up on all 4's! I don't know if I'm ready for a crawler!
-At night I still put pampers on him and he is in size 4 in those. Luvs he still wears a 3 but they are gettin snug.
-If he wears a one piece outfit he is in 18 months, but all other clothes he wears 12 months still. His sleepers are gettin a bit snug so I have tried looking for some 18 month ones and they are kind of hard to come by! I guess most kids are running around at 18 months and don't really wear footies anymore. I did find a few on Oldnavy's site I will probably order.
-He seems to be talking so much more lately. I have been hearing all sorts of new sounds! I swear he says "ya" and"hi" all the time.. haha but I'm sure they are just blabbering sounds he is making.
-He officially loves the play "peek a boo". I love that he is getting older and interacts more! I was video taping him playing peek a boo and it was so cute! He kept looking around my phone, haha.
-Naps haven't really changed much. Still about a 2 hour morning and 2 hour afternoon nap and bed time at 8.
Love our little sugar bear :) He is so sweet and the most content little baby ever.
