Lane 10 and 11 months

We have had a whirlwind of a spring this year! So I'm combining 2 months into one blog post! Sorry, I'm behind! Lane has changed so much lately. He is becoming quite a little boy! He started crawling really good at 10 months, no more army crawl! He did a funky crawl for awhile where the stuck one leg out straight and drug it to the side while the other leg was bent in a crawling position. Our whole 10th month for Lane was spent at Donsbach's house. We had so much fun living there! Our boys really miss them, as do we! This is where Lane started saying uh oh! He would drop something and make a humming noise at the same voice as uh oh and then we started realizing what he was saying! So cute! This is probably his first REAL word besides dadada jabber. He also stared saying hiiii. He is funny with his words though he goes through phases where he says them and then I don't hear them again for awhile.

Poor guy has had a very rough past 3 months with ear infections. They have basically been non-stop since about February. He's been on every kind of antibiotic and none seem to clear it for more than a day and then its back. So, sleep hasn't been wonderful lately either! He is finally getting tubes on June 12th.

He is weighing about 22 pounds and still wearing size 4 shoe, 4 diaper, and 12-18 month clothes. His pants are needing to be 18 months though, he is quite tall for his age!

He is a garbage disposal when it comes to eating! He will eat anything you put in front of him! I usually feed him eggs and toast for breakfast, turkey dogs, cheese, fruit, or some kind of sandwhich for lunch, and then he eats whatever we eat for dinner! I'm so glad he doesn't have trouble swallowing food like Hunter did/does! We couldn't get Hunter to eat meat until he was about 2 1/2 or so. Lane seems to have no problem! He can even eat steak! He still has only 4 teeth too. It looks like some more top teeth are coming in on the sides and his gums feel swollen in the back for some molars to come in soon as well! At 11 months we ditched the formula and switched to regular milk! WOO HOO!

He is not an awesome napper like Hunter was either. He will sometimes take two naps but sometimes its just one... If he takes two they're usually about an hour each, and if its one nap its usually 2 hours. Unfortunately we started having to rock him whenever he stood up in his crib too. So it takes him forever to go down for a nap and for bed! I'm hoping this summer we can break him of this habbit!

He pulls up on anything and everything but will not walk alone yet. Hoping soon!

We love you Laner bug!

Finally in our new house!

Lane 9 months

Our little Lane is growing up and doing so many new tricks! His newest trick is pulling up in his crib to a standing position. He can also clap now! I bet he will be pulling up on furniture and then walking before we know it! I am not ready for that!

At 9 months Lane is weighin in at 22 pounds still. He has his official appointment this week so I'll get where he is on the charts after that. I believe he is slowing down though! He still seems tall but not near as chubby. I guess crawling everywhere is burning off some calories! He is still wearing 12 and some 12-18 month clothes, size 4 diaper.

He will no longer eat baby food. He wants nothing to do with it! I have started buying the little individual containers of veggies and he loves those. He can eat a whole container plus some! Its nice that he is so good at feeding himself too! His favorite foods right now are peas, green beans, corn, peaches, eggs, and mac n cheese! He wants to feed himself all of these foods!

He doesn't say many words yet. We have heard hi and dada. Officially his first word was hi though, haha. He still jabbers a lot just nothing we know as words.

His temper is growing! Diaper changes, and not getting what he wants will result in a full on scream with the legs kickin. This boy's temper is fierce! I believe he will be a strong willed child! He has such a sweet temperament too. He loves to cuddle and when you make him smile he buries his head into your shoulder for a hug. First thing in the morning he wants a hug too! There was one day he had snot on him and I already had my work clothes on so I tried holding him out and he threw a fit because he wanted snuggled right away! He still has a paci too. He isn't super attached though so I think he will be easy to break.

We are in the middle of packing up our house for our big move in the next 6 weeks! So, I hope the boys do okay with that! I don't think it will bother Lane except that we may have to live with my aunt for a week or so in between houses and Lane doesn't like the pack n play too well. So, we'll see how he does with that!

Time to lower the crib!!

Lane 8 months

Lane at 8 months...

He is on the move! He has 2 teeth! What a big month of changes it has been! Mr. Lane is into EVERYTHING. I do not remember Hunter being so fast and so interested in things he can't have, haha. He will find any cord you have within 20 feet of him, and it will be in his mouth immediately. He will also find that microscopic piece of food you missed when you vacuumed 10 seconds ago. Holy Bejesus this kid is fast. I am finding that I have to vacuum daily and that is the whole house, not just the living room. He army crawls, like Hunter did, all through the house!

He seems to be less interested in his bottles lately too. He is all about the food! If you are eating he wants to be eating! He is eating 2 gerber baby foods at every meal, which means I have to buy a million of them every week! I have been starting to try some table food! He has had scrambled eggs, corn, and chewed on a breadstick, haha. He is loving the table foods! I just can't scoop his food into his mouth fast enough! He gets his little hands a waving and feet a kicking!

He is literally always happy, unless it's 8:00 pm and he is still awake, haha. He would rather be in bed sleeping. We are so blessed with such a happy guy! He is still sleeping great at night. Even though Hunter slept through the night early on he was always up with an ear infection. Lane has only had 1 and I didn't even know he had it! He still slept which is why I didn't even suspect it was bothering him. I am thinking he had it for like 2 weeks though because he was running a fever for that long on and off. That was also the week he got teeth too! Poor guy had a rough few weeks!

He is in 12-18 month clothes, 21 pounds, and 29 1/2 inches long when I measured him. He wears size 4 diapers, and he doesn't wear shoes very often but the ones he has are 6-12 month. I can't believe he will be walking in a few months! I love my baby and hate to think of him becoming a toddler soon! A lot of people don't love the baby stage but I do! I would love for him to stay a baby as long as possible! Although I know how fun the next stages of life are going to be too! I am so ready for my summer off with my babies! That is my most cherished time of the whole year! I always look so forward to it. With the weather becoming a little warmer it is making me so antsy for May to come!
I need to start thinking about the big first birthday party! Lane's not near as in to the TV as Hunter was so I may just do something cute instead of a character theme this year.

We just got Lane's pictures back from his 7 month photo shoot with Lydia! He is such a cutie I can hardly stand it! His hair looks a little more red in these than it is in person.
This picture captures his personality to a T! He is so sweet all the time! Such a cuddle bug and happy boy!

Loving on his brother! So adorable!

Lane 7 months

I feel like I just wrote Lane's 6 month post! Wow time is flying by! The holidays were so fun with this little guy! He is such a sweet tempered little boy! I got my cuddle bug with this one! Even if he isn't tired he will just sit on your lap and even lay his head down and let you cuddle him. I love it! He isn't quite as big of an eater as his brother was at this point, but he does love his food! We have started giving him baby yogurt after his breakfast bottle; he gobbles it right up! For lunch he gets another bottle and a few cubes of baby food or a gerber container. He usually gets another bottle around 3, another bottle around 6 and some more baby food, and then his bed time bottle is at 8.
His schedule hasn't changed much but we have started laying him down in his crib for naps and letting him put himself to sleep. He does great! We didn't even have to try very hard! The first time I tried it he did great. He used to get mad if he flipped to his back while sleeping, but now he rolls all around and he doesn't mind sleeping on his side, belly, or back. It kind of makes me said I don't get to rock him as much anymore, so I usually still rock him before bed at night, for my sake :) They grow up so fast and he won't be little long! I am trying to treasure each and every baby moment as we are now closer to his first birthday! This guy is going to be a heart breaker. He smiles SO easily and never cries. He is in love with his family, especially his brother! I think these two will be best buddies!

Lane also loves playing on the floor. He isn't crawling yet but he does love spinning on his belly and he reaches and tries so hard to get things. I haven't seen him scooting yet or army crawling but hopefully soon! I already had to throw some of Hunter's toys away that had small pieces. It makes me nervous having him crawling around now that Hunter has so many different toys he could get in to!

As far as size goes he hasn't changed much from 6 months. He is still wearing 12 month clothes and weighing right at around 20 pounds. He is also 28 inches, not 26 like this picture says--oops! He is on his last package of size 3 diapers and then we will move him to size 4.

Developmentally, he reaches for people, passes toys from hand to hand, gives kisses, and does this waving thing with his hand. It's not really him waving at people, it is just a habit thing he does. My parents used to tell me that I did it when I was a baby too. He is proving to be more and more like his mom. Most people tell me Hunter looks more like Jared now and Lane looks more like me. He definitely has my eyes! I always had really squinty small eyes until I was older then I kind of grew out of it. He is starting to get bigger eyes too.  He is sitting like a pro now and rolling all over the house! I need to keep trying the sippy cup to get him used to it. We don't use it much just because I usually don't think of it. I really want to do just water with him and not get him on the habit of juice like Hunter was. It's so bad for their teeth! I'd like to stay away from it if possible! So far he doesn't seem to mind water!

He is still on his AR formula. I am looking forward to the day we don't have to buy that anymore! However, I did find it cheaper online so that is a plus!

Lane 6 months

Lane at 6 months is approximately 20 pounds and tall, haha. He is wearing 12 month clothes unless it is a one piece outfit then he is in 12-18 months. He has such a long torso! He squeels, plays, and squeels some more. Such a happy easy going guy! He does have a temper though! If you are holding him and you lay him down to change his diaper he will get very mad! He arches his back and kicks those legs out, not to mention screams!

He loves to play on the floor. He will roll both ways front to back and back to belly. He doesn't enjoy being on his back though. He hasn't started crawling but he will definitely reach for toys and trys to scoot around a bit. I'm sure he will be just like his brother, and we will have another army crawler on our hands. He isn't a big TV watcher, unless it is gigglebellies then you have his full attention! He will be content in his exersaucer and jumperoo for a long time by himself. He is so aware of what is going on now. If he sees a bottle across the room he wants it! If he drops his paci he looks all around for it and grabs it, and he can put it back in himself. He even grabs for my phone already... and the remote of course!

His schedule is finally starting to be the same... he took a lot longer to get on one than Hunter did. There are still days where he changes his schedule too. Most of the days he wakes up around 7, eats, plays, naps around 9, wakes up after an hour or so, eats around 1030, plays, eats baby food, then usually eats just a few ounces if any and goes back down for a nap around 1. He will usually sleep a few hours this time. He wakes up and eats again around 4. Eats baby food for dinner and has one more bottle around 8 before bed! He sleeps all night still, thankfully!

We have started giving him baby food 2x a day now too. He seems to notice table food a lot more lately! He gets baby food around lunch and dinner time. We have some that is homemade baby food and we also have some of the step 2 gerber dinners. He doesn't seem to have a preference, besides not liking peas! I have not had any luck getting him to eat peas. He still has no teeth!

He likes bath time with brother! He is pretty good at sitting up by himself now, but it is hard in the bath so he has a bath seat.

Even though life is crazy busy for us right now I still manage to capture sweet moments on camera. I love our boys more than anything! Here have been some favorite moments lately...

Lane 5 months

Lane at 5 months...
We dont' have an official weight because he goes to the doctor next month, but on our scale he was a little over 18 pounds!
He is starting to hold his bottle by himself now.
He rolls from back to belly.
He is wearing 9 month and some 12 month clothes.
He loves baby food..*disclaimer dont try to feed him peas! He does not care for them! He also does much better when he eats food during the day around mid morning... when I try to feed him at night he gets so angry with me!
We are currently on a formula search. I stopped breast feeding and now we can't seem to find a formula that agrees with little mister like the breast milk did! He has tried 3 different ones and he seems gassy and spits up with them. I'm hoping we can figure one out soon! I want my content sleepy baby back! That being said, either its the formula or he is making up for the first 3 months of his life when he slept them away! Because lately he has been cat napping. We will lay him down and then an hour later he wakes up. I'm really hoping its the formula and not just a cat napping phase! There are some days when he will still take a 2-3 hour nap but not very often! We may have been spoiled with that!
He is SO NOT a schedule baby! I STILL don't have a set schedule for him. Each day is a new day and a new attitude, haha. Some days he is content as can be and other days he wants held all day. He still doesn't hardly ever cry though. Some days he wants 4 bottles some days its 5 and even sometimes he will want 6. I am so chill this time around I'm like okay whatever makes you happy baby boy! Hopefully he can get used to food more and eat less formula here pretty soon!
We are so close to sitting up! He leans forward still... it won't be long though!
He is such a spaz; he loves sitting in the high chair and playing with toys on his tray... it's pretty funny watching him go for those toys so frantically!
He is teething like crazy, but we still don't have any!
He mostly sleeps through the night; we might have one or two nights a week where he wakes up around 4 and wants a bottle. If so, he goes back to sleep afterwards. I'm hoping its just his teething phase waking him up and hopefully they can come in soon!
Hunter is loving his baby brother. He melts my heart when he hugs and loves on him so often! We took Lane to Nashville this past weekend to watch Jared run and when we returned Hunter said I missed my brother! SO SWEET! <3
Here are a few pictures of month 5 with this sweetie pie!

Hunter lately- 2 years 4 months

We got Hunter potty trained 2 moths after he turned 2. It was so much easier this time around! When we first tried potty training at 22 months he was not quite ready. This time, it was so evident that he was ready! He understood it better and even if he went in his underwear he would tell me and then he would finish going on the toilet. We started by having him sit on a toddler toilet seat and this worked for awhile. He did really well with going poop on the potty.. it took a little longer to get the hang of going pee. I'd say after a week he was having 1 or less accidents a day. Then we went a few weeks with no accidents. Then randomly after he had been trained for awhile he starting having multiple accidents a day. It started with just accidents for granny, then for everyone else except us, then he started having them for us too. I was so annoyed and did a little searching only to find it was normal for kids to go through a rough patch after they have already been trained. So instead of spanking when he had accidents we decided to try something new and get a stool and let him try taking ownership of the whole thing. He now can go in there and go pee by himself using the stool. We still like to supervise but he does do a good job going alone!

When we first started training we started with the thick gerber training underwear. These were so nice because even when he did have an accident if it was just a little bit it didnt ruin his shorts, socks, and shoes! Now if it was a lot of pee then it didnt matter and he would have to change everything. We are now using normal underwear and he is doing great!

He says the funniest things and always keeps us laughing. He has the craziest vocabulary for a 2 year old! We are going to put him in pre-school next year to get him some socialization. Hopefully he can get a little better with his speech too. He knows any word and can talk in sentences but the way he talks is not exactly normal haha. He used to stutter a little bit and we told him to slow down and he basically stopped stuttering. Now instead he elongates syllables to keep from stuttering. Its not a huge deal but being around other kids and seeing how they talk may help with this, I don't know!
Hunter knows every color, the common shapes, counts to 20 and can keep going if we help him a little. He knows the abc song, itsy bitsy song, patty cake, and others! He can identify the letter H and knows how to spell his name... I am hoping to get him writing his name before pre-school next year!

If there is one thing he loves most its his baby brother. I love seeing him kiss and hug on Lane. He is constantly telling him to smile and giving him kisses. My favorite is when he says I love you baby Lane <3 Melts a momma's heart! These two are my pride and joy... along with their daddy! We are one blessed family! Thank you God!
