Nursery Ideas- vote!

The nursery is started! YAY!

Like I said in my previous post, Jared started the room while I was away in Florida. Such a nice surprise and relief to have it painted and carpeted already! We went to pick up the crib last night. I am thinking we might try and put it together this weekend. I will have to order sheets because my bedding didn't come with any. I was going to do just plain brown and Wal-Mart only has blue or pink... so guess those colors are out! I thought yellow would be cute too, but I will probably get brown to start off with... maybe yellow can be our backup.

I was going to buy a wall decal of a tree to put up. However, they are running about $90 a piece and I decided that's ridiculous for a tree decal! So, since my husband is pretty artistic, he is going to draw/paint one for us. I will then use my cricut to cut out owls in girly colors or boyish colors once baby is here. I figured that would make it look a little more gender specific. So, I have been researching trees with owls and here are the ones I've narrowed it down to. Remember, it will be paint, and there will be no owls yet!

Choice number 1: I really liked how this one had multi colored leaves. Our owls have patterns on them, and I thought this would be really cute to do some patterned leaves that matched... If not the patterns, then just the shape of the tree and colors of the leaves for this one

Choice number 2: Simple tree with just green leaves (I wouldn't do the orange) I like the shape of the tree in this one too.

Choice number 3: This one is just too cute for a girl. I wouldn't be able to do the pink leaves but could definitly do the pink owls if we had a girl! But once again, look at the tree style.
Then I want to do something like this over the baby's crib with baby's name in either blue or pink! So cute!! I would make the leaves match the tree I chose to do though instead of these exact ones.

SO NOW ITS TIME TO VOTE!
Leave a comment and tell me which tree you think we should paint. Go off of the tree style/shape. #1, 2, or 3! :)

Florida

Last week Linda and I went to Panama City Beach, Florida.

We had a long day of flying on Thursday... left her house at noon and didn't get to our hotel until midnight! Yes, I realize that is about how long it would have taken to drive, haha. Our plane was delayed in Maryland because of fog in Panama. So it made for a long day, that's for sure!

Friday we were pretty exhausted. We quickly realized our hotel was not near any of the tourist things to do there, bummer! Since we didn't rent a car (mistake number 1) we had to pay for taxi's everywhere we went. That sucked! But, we decided to take one somewhere that we could spend all day basically. So we went downtown to the Ripley's Museum, the science center, and did some mini golf on the first day. We walked a total of probably 2 miles through the different places. By 6 pm we were ready to head back to our hotel and relax.

Saturday we decided since the weather said it was supposed to thunderstorm all day, we'd use this day as our shopping day. So we went to Pier Park which was a large outlet mall with lots of things to do. Several restaurants, shops, rides for kids, and they had 2 parades this day since it was Mardi Gra. So we had fun walkin around and hangin out Saturday. It ended up not rainin until about 6 or 7pm... so we technically could have used this as our beach day and it would have been great weather for it! We were pretty close to the water and decided to sit here for a bit and enjoy the ocean view!

Sunday was supposed to be our "relax by the beach and read a book" day. The weather was supposed to be sunny and 73 of a high temp. Of course, that didn't happen though! We decided we were really tired of paying 30 bucks to take a 1 way taxi ride, so chose to walk to the beach from our hotel (it was about a mile and a half) So we started off walking, and had our blanket in hand (we borrowed the "extra" blanket our room had in the closet).  The walk wasn't too bad, my calves were  just a little sore from all the walking the day before. But we made it to the beach, sat down, got out our books, and then the clouds started rollin in. The wind was about 30 mph too! BRR! We were freezing to say the least. We decided we would tough it out a little longer, until we got totally creeped out! Since the weather wasn't the best, there was pretty much no one walking the beach... We would see an old couple walking in the distance every 10 min or so... but that was it! I looked up and saw some random guy in his 20's or 30's walking towards us with a duffle bag. He decided to sit down no more than 12 inches from us! He might as well have asked us to sit on our blanket with us! We quickly got creeped out, figured he was just tryin to steal our purses while we weren't payin attention. So we started gettin our shoes on and grabbed all of our stuff ASAP and walked the other way. We looked back after about 50 yards and he was gone! What a weirdo... I did manage to take a picture of the beach before we packed up... You can tell the water was so much rougher because of the wind! The skys don't look to promising either.
We still had a good day though. Decided to go back to pier park. There is always time for shopping and eating out! We saw a movie too. "This Means War" it was AMAZING! We had seen the Vow the day before it and was really good too! I just liked This Means War better cause it was funny :)

Monday was a day of travel again, but not as bad as the trip to FL. We got home around 2:30 on Monday. When I got home I was COMPLETELY surprised. My awesome hubby had painted the nursery, carpeted it, installed a ceiling fan, and put together the glider for our baby! Wow! He didn't have much of a relaxing weekend... but the room is now getting closer and closer to being ready for baby Yager! Only 18 more weeks at the most till we get to meet him or her!

tagged

My sister tagged me in this blog tag game where you answer questions... so here goes!

List a few random things about you:
-You could say Jared and I are "high school sweet hearts" since we started dating his junior year and my senior year.
-We're expecting our first baby in June or July
-Family and God have always been so important to me. I grew up in a house where we ate dinner together every night, had bible studies together after dinner, played games as a family, went to church together every Sunday, had close church friends, and most importantly we were taught that a relationship with God is the most important one you can ever make. I plan to instill the same values into my family.

What is your favorite current hobby?
-My current favorite hobby is to sew baby stuff!

If you could go anywhere for a vacation where would it be?
-I would go to the carribean. I'm a beach person... put me on a beach in the sun and I'm happy! The carribean has the prettiest waters though!

What is the first thing you would do if you won a million dollars?
-I actually had a dream about this the other night. This might sound selfish but I'd pay off our house and buy an SUV haha. I've always wanted one but I'm "dealing" with my car since it's paid off.

Why did you start blogging?
-I started blogging to update on wedding plans and what Jared and I have been up to. Its fun to blog about baby too!

What is your current favorite blog to follow?
I actually really like following my sister's blog because its mostly all about my nephews! Other than hers I like Make it and Love it and Prudent Baby!

So now I'm tagging:
Lydia @ Creative Caldron
Kate @ Just another Ink Spot

Answer the same questions I did!

More updates

I forgot to say baby's measurments from our last appointment. Baby weighed a little over 9 ounces! From head to butt baby was about 6 and a half inches tall. I'm anxious for the next sonogram already!

My blood preasure was super low! It was 96/56. I thought this was bad but she said wow you're so relaxed, so I guess it was a great blood preasure!

The baby's room has....0 progress. Uhh! I want to get started on it so badly! Jared has decided he wants to build us a new bed because ours is so cheap and wobbly and loud.. its so annoying. Getting in and out of bed could seriouslly wake the neighbor it's so loud, haha. So, he says next weekend he's going to paint baby's room and make us a bed... we'll see how that goes! I would like to replace the light in the baby's room to a fan. We bought a fan but have no clue how to even start doing that.. I'm hoping we can talk my brother-in-law into helping with it. He's so handy!

I'm taking a trip to Florida next week! I can't wait! I was beginning to think about packing.. and realized I have no summer maternity yet. My sister is looking to see if she has any t-shirts for me! I hope she can cause its a little late to order some and have them shipped by Thursday!

Halfway!!

I can hardly believe that I'm halfway done with my first pregnancy! Saturday I'll be 20 weeks, so I guess not technically yet, but close! And hey, a girl can dream right, maybe I'll have this baby early-mid June! I would LOVE that! 1 reason- small baby, another reason- more time off in the summer if I get another teaching job! We all know that's not up to me though... so we'll just have to see what God's plan is for us!

Yesterday we had our halfway appointment. We had a sonogram first, and no we didn't find out what we were having. Although I don't believe we could have found out yesterday anyways... even if we had planned on it! The baby was curled up in a ball the whole time! We were in there for a good half hour and it wasn't until right before we left that she finally got a profile pic of baby. The baby's feet were all the way above the head! I couldn't believe how long the legs looked.

Here are some pictures:

I think baby might have dad's nose... ...

This is the one that cracks me up... the legs are just so long! And that does not look comfortable at all!

Leg and foot picture

After our sonogram we met with Dr. Haller. She is always so short and to the point. Jared likes that about her. I gained my first weight since the last appointment.. boo. Last time I went I was still down 2 pounds... This time I had gained 5 since my last time. So overall I'm +3 pounds.. uhh! I actually got really emotional and shed some tears because I'm deathly afraid of becoming this huge ugly overweight pregnant person who can't lose the weight after baby is born. (dont laugh!) No valentine's chocolates for me!!!  Since the weather should be getting warmer soon, I told Jared we're going to have to start walking at night.

We experienced some firsts yesterday, besides weight gain. I got heart burn for the first time. Wow that sucked. I couldn't lay down for a good hour... it finally went away though.
Jared also got to feel the baby move yesterday! I had been feeling it a ton since our ultrasound and I told him to put his hand on my belly. Of course, it stopped as soon as he put his hand there. So he got out his phone and played some BG music right by my belly. What do you know baby started kicking after that! It was neat to feel because it was most likely a reaction kick. Jared had a big smile on his face! :)
